Wow, to say the least, I was outraged to read the article “15 Reasons to Start a Web Development Business” by the blog “Under30CEO”. I understand he is trying to provide great ideas, stimulate thought, and most importantly make money. But the primarily principles the blog states for starting a Web Development business is that its easy and that anyone can do it, its foolish. Reason #1 and Reason #2 were okay in my book, but Reason #3 had my jaw drop - You Don’t Need To Learn Code! WHAT?!?!? You don’t need to learn code - that is at the heart of Web Development. If I went to a mechanic to get repairs on my car, but found out they had no experience working with cars I would take my car elsewhere without a second thought.

Today we celebrate Easter, and it was a great time reflecting and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Its without His resurrection that we are truly saved! During our worship service we were visually and audibly reminded of this great life-changing event. Our pastor showed this great video from Granger Community Church. Visuals were set to the audio of the famous sermon “Seven Way King” (aka That’s My King) as spoken by Dr. S.M. Lockridge. The audio was slightly edited for a better flow in the video. The music in the background was performed live by the GCC band while the video played on the screens.

When starting Synergema, our founder Brandon Steiger, had the opportunity to meet with a SCORE mentor in West Chester, PA. He remembers SCORE saying that having the best services in the world doesn’t mean anything if you don’t know and truly understand your clients. SCORE urged Synergema to put a CRM as one of the central components of our business. Today, Synergema’s CRM is one of the vital elements to their business. For sales we are able to see our pipeline and forecast sales trends, for project management we can see where projects are successful and where there are pending issues, and for the business as a whole Synergema is able to forecast the ups and downs of business. It truly is a vital part of Synergema’s business. Thank you SCORE.

Recently our Big Idea Guy, Brandon Steiger, was interviewed by Lauren Hunter for an article in Church & Worship Technology. Here is that article…

Much has been said, suggested, implored and recommended on the subject of how a church should handle the building and maintaining of their public Web site. It seems to be a complicated landscape, one that is continually changing and adjusting to incorporate new technologies and ideologies. This is no secret…

Over the past month we started a new project geared towards freelancers and small firms. Quite frankly the project has come out of our frustration in dealing with this specific industry - the problem being is this industry probably doesn’t use their own software - so we are out to change it. You may be thinking to yourself, “Your being way too vague!” Yes and that is on purpose. At this stage, we’re not ready to show anything yet, but the excitement is driving us crazy! We will definitely be talking about this new project in the upcoming weeks till we get to a stage where we can join the Web 2.0 world and have our very own beta project - ha ha!!
